We’re in the midst of a Scandi obsession. Last week the Swedes took to the streets of Stockholm celebrating mesmerising Scandi Style at Stockholm Fashion Week. While now it’s all about Copenhagen. The city trademarked by the mermaid, fish and for us Ganni, is showcasing the best of International Fashion talent this week and we wanted to dedicate this instalment of I Like Ya Style to one of the best curators of Scandi Style. We’re talking about fashion editor and stylist Jeanette Madsen.

Contrary to the limited view of Scandinavian style – meaning monochrome minimalism, Madsen proves that the secret to maintaining the Scandi aesthetic is about investing in great basics. One of her ways of showcasing her individual style by staying true to her Danish roots is by adding bold shades of colour. For example, Jeanette often plays with unexpected colour combinations such as pinks, reds and blues for a more joyful end result.
She avoids anything dreary so grey, navy or black is a no no.

– Staying in line with trends she paired a cobalt blue jumper with a seafoam green pleated skirt and draw the outfit in by adding a white T-shirt and white boots. The tonal head-to-toe blue combo was juxtaposed by a poppy orange clutch.
– For a soft look Jeanette pairs, a blush pink blazer with a lemon yellow pair of suit trousers finished with a gold chain crossbody bag.

– Keeping in line with trends, Jeanette sported the red and pink combo pairing her pink H&M trousers with an oversized Miu Miu sweater.
– When she wants to go after a demure colour palette she still manages to pair colours and adds a playful item. Take her camel teddy bear coat for example, that she styled with a camel coloured blouse dark denim jeans, and ankle booties.
